I. The truth shall set you free. John 8:32 — "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

II. There is only one thing in all the Scriptures that God blesses, sanctifies, and makes holy.

A. Many things He uses one of these words for.

1. Only one place where you find He uses two of these words. Revelation 20:6

2. But the Sabbath is the only place where God uses all three words.

a. "Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made." [Genesis 2:3]

b. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do not work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." [Exodus 20:8-11]

c. Example of seven glasses of water, but the seventh has blessed, hallowed and sanctified. It’s not the same as the other six.

3. What does blessing, sanctifying and hallowing do to the Sabbath?

a. It makes it sacred.

b. Jeremiah 17:21-25

c. Isaiah 56.2

4. Given for worship. Paul kept the Sabbath. Acts 13:42-44; Isaiah 66:22; Hebrews 10:25

5. Given for communication. Isaiah 58:13, 14

C. Crucifixion of Jesus spells it out. Luke 23:54-56; 24:1

D. No other day was Blessed, Hallowed, and Sanctified.
