Baptism

Baptism is a joyous occasion in our CVAC family. Baptism is a public expression of an inner conversion to believe in Jesus. It is through the baptism service that a person joins our church, and the worldwide body of believers. Seventh-day Adventists baptize by immersion into water. Baptism is given to those who make an informed decision to become a life-long disciple of Jesus. Those who have been baptized by immersion into another faith group, but wish to become a CVAC member may join the church through a public Profession of Faith.

Child Dedication

During this short ceremony the Pastor will ask the parents to answer in the affirmative several questions which demonstrate a public commitment to bring the child up in the ways of God, and request God's continual blessing upon the child. The church family too makes a commitment to pray for and befriend the parents and child. The ceremony closes with a prayer of dedication by the Pastor.

The Lord's Supper

Approximately four times a year we celebrate the Lord's Supper, also called Communion. During this service we take time to consider the symbols of Jesus' death. The bread represents the Lord's broken body. The grape juice symbolizes His spilled blood. His death represents the punishment we deserve.
